The SLYD was designed and created out of necessity!
I've played slide my whole career, and just got tired of having no place to put it (pocket/on top of amp). I used to tape a drinking straw to my mic stand to hold the slide. So, in 1985 I went to Stanford Lab Glass and had them make a half round, D-Shaped glass tube with a flat surface so I could attach it to the headstock of my guitar.
The Gary Tackett SLYD was born!
Borosilicate tubing is run over a heated mandrel to produce the flat surface, then cut and fire polished by hand. The flat surface allows you to attach it to most guitar headstocks.
The Gary Tackett SLYD will fit on most acoustic and electric guitar headstocks, so you can get one for each guitar and always have a SLYD when you need it. No more looking for or losing your slide!
After rave reviews in Guitar Player Magazine (Michael Molenda), John Jorgenson's endorsement, and selling over 500 at the NAMM SHOW in LA, I licensed it to Planet Waves/D'Addario.
The license has since expired, and I will selling these Hand Made in the USA ( direct to consumer and retailer.

The Gary Tackett SLIK (Slide and Pick Holder) was created to have one single attachable unit on the mic stand to hold both picks and a slide. The SLIK is super easy to place and remove from the mic stand, and can either hold just picks or a combination of picks and a slide. The SLIK will come in a variety of colors.

The Gary Tackett PEDL is a unique and functionally designed pedal housing that allows your pedals to be placed right next to each other eliminating the connector chord space between each pedal. It also eliminated the top input/output/power connector as well by means of a recessed housing that allow the cords to run under the PEDL.
